Poor Diet An IQ Risk In Young Children.

According to a  recent study children who consume a diet of mainly processed food could have a lower IQ that those who consume a diet rich in vegetables and fruit.

A study was done on about 14, 000  children; a processed food diet was compared to a diet of fresh  fruit and vegetables.

Parents were asked to report on the types and frequency of the food and drink that their children consume at age  3, 4, 7 and 8 1/2 years.

The study found that a diet of mainly  processed food  at age 3 was linked to a 1.67 points lower on the IQ scale.
