Saturated fat and trans fat are the two types of fat that can cause premature death by causing fatal diseases.
Researchers are saying that saturated fat can damage sperm or lower sperm counts. They followed 91 men seeking fertility treatment.
The men were asked such questions as:
- How often they eat certain food
- What types of oil they used in cooking
- What types of oil they used in baking
- The type of margarine consumed
The study found men who eat healthier fats to have healthier sperm. The men who had the highest intake of saturated fat had 41% fewer sperm that those who had the lowest intake.
